I often stumble across rather lengthy justifications people feel compelled to post that explain why their spiritual perspective is whatever it is. The thrust of them is that they are usually not the stereotypical follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and so they have to explain why not all Flying Spaghetti Monster followers are NOT the same, specifically why they are not like those FSM-ers you have probably met or heard about and so how you really should meet more followers of the FSM who are more like they are, which will certainly change your opinion not only of them but of the FSM as well. Every time I hear of read one of those I just want to scream, and then take a nap because I am so bored with it all. If I may offer a suggestion, just practice your spirituality – whatever it is! Don’t worry about what other people think. You really don’t need their approval. If they don’t understand you or approve of you, that’s THEIR problem, not yours. Whatever they think of your journey is their stuff to work out, you really can’t do it for them. Trying to do it for them just takes energy away from your own practice. Stop it, already!
