Daily Teaching for Tuesday, November 19th

When we look to professional athletes or celebrities as our role models we are setting ourselves up for disappointment because both of those professions are part of the entertainment and entertainers deal in illusion and fiction. We can never be like them because our understanding of them is incomplete and fictional. We believe they never have problems and only receive love and adulation, which simply isn’t true. Appropriate role models should embody the values we believe are important and be three-dimensional people who have both highs and lows but carry on anyway.
