I am afraid I have a bit of bad news for you. If you don’t like who I am, or if something I say or do strikes you as offensive you will feel compelled to call me names or try to lecture me into agreeing with your position rather than accepting that I have a mind of my own (mind you, I am not talking about reasonable discussions in which we might have to agree to disagree), I need to invite you to just move along now. I have worked a long time to be happy with myself, and if you are one of those people who insists that we agree on everything if we are going to be friends then you are just going to be disappointed sooner or later anyway – so feel free to get to stepping right now. On the other hand, if you can tolerate diversity and difference of opinion, I can offer you the same in return. It’s really up to you to choose your poison.
