We live in an increasingly anti-intellectual era in America. It is therefore critically important that we who understand act according to that understanding. Some people will refuse to do common sense things like vaccinate their children. We cannot compel them, and so we must be sure to vaccinate our children so they will not become the victims of ignorance. Some will see conspiracy around every corner. We cannot stop them from seeing ghosts, and so we must see clearly and speak the truth. Anger will only convince the ignorant they are correct. The best we can do is remain calm, do the right thing, and let those who must learn the hard way do precisely that. We must vote with our feet and our pocket books as well as at the polls.
