Scientists tell us that the universe is always expanding. So, too, is our knowledge of the universe and the things contained within it. It makes no sense whatsoever, therefore, to believe that any of the ancient religious or spiritual traditions contain everything there is to know about the Divine. To believe that they do is to voluntarily enter a field of ignorance and vow to never emerge. It’s much more reasonable to conclude that the ancient traditions all contain truths, but also to acknowledge that we must move beyond the days of tribal religion in which I spend my time rooting for the home team as if I were attending a football game. The search for Truth must always be interested in more information and in growth. Those who aren’t ready for it will remain in the tribal days of competing religions. That doesn’t mean the rest of us must follow suit.
