As we approach this weekend with the Christian Holidays of All Saints’ Day on November 1st and All Souls’ Day November 2nd, it’s a good time to reflect on those people who have been important to us who have transitioned to the next phase of life. Who was important to you? If you’re like me, you find yourself thinking about them from time to time and remembering their influence on your life. It’s important to say that we remember both those whose influence was positive and those whose influence was less than ideal – and that, from time to time and over time, some people move from one category to another. That’s probably less a statement about who they were to and for us than about our own evolution and growth in understanding. Take a few moments this week or this weekend to fondly remember those who helped to make you the wonderful person you are today – whether or not you appreciated them back in the day!
