Any leader or reformer soon discovers that no matter how good their ideas are, they need the right people to implement them. Many people, for any number of reasons absolutely unrelated to the strength of someone’s plan, will be unable to carry out even the best ideas. Whether it’s their fear, their ineptitude, or their lack of intellectual acumen, some people will self sabotage any change they might have at achieving something significant in their lives. The trick for the leader is to recognize that such people are responding out of their own brokenness, and their behavior has nothing to do with the quality of the ideas in question. Even the best plan needs the right people to carry it out successfully. If the people around you are holding you back, it’s time to put a new team together and move on. You will be glad you did!
