Slow Down for Summer

It’s June, and soon all schools with be out for the summer in the northern hemisphere. It has always struck me as a little strange thatfriends jumping when many of us go on vacation we pack our vacations full of activity. I’ve done it myself, and have heard many people say after a vacation that they are glad to get back to work so they can get some rest. I enjoy sight seeing and special events as much as anybody and I am not going to advocate for not doing it – but what if for each day of vacation that we crammed full of activity we took a down day, too? What if for every day of frenetic activity we took a day of no technology save for some relaxing music if necessary and really took time to spend together with the people with whom we are vacationing? Try it this year. You will be amazed at the difference!
