Some time ago I read an article suggesting that contemporary families should mimic some indigenous cultures in that the twenty-somethings should have children and then go off to establish their careers while the grandparents, who are more patient, raise the kids. I didn’t buy into the idea then, and after spending several days watching my grandchildren due to daycare being closed first for the holidays and then due to extremely cold temperatures I can tell you who ever came up with it was a raging idiot. In fact, they probably were twenty-something and didn’t want to take responsibility for the consequences of their sexuality.
