It’s been unusually cold in my part of the world the last several days. When the weather is severe it’s an opportunity to remind ourselves of how fortunate we are to have warm clothes and a roof over our heads. That should lead us to look for opportunities to help those who don’t have enough. I saw a teenager walking home from the school bus wearing a bathrobe the other day – no doubt because he doesn’t have a coat. He represents a great moral failing in America, where we have more than enough for everyone but are too greedy to share it.
