Every generation believes that their children’s generation is something of a lost cause. The difference is that this time my generation just might be right. I have friends who are university professors, and the behavior they describe in the classroom reflects a generation of profoundly entitled spoiled brats who believe that the world owes them something. Very often, university administrators enable the students’ behavior. That combination ensures that these students will struggle profoundly in the work place and that they are in for a very rude awakening indeed. We need to urgently rethink the way we educate and socialize our young people.
