We always have a choice. Even in the face of the most offensive and objectionable behavior we can choose to walk away or choose to engage the offender. Often, depending upon the circumstances, wisdom and maturity leads us to walk away – especially when the safety of ourselves or others is at stake. Nobody ever won an argument with a drunk or otherwise impaired person.
