Daily Teaching for Thursday, July 25th

In our culture we need to become better at hearing people’s pain, because getting in touch with pain is often the first step to healing. How often to do we find ourselves comforting someone who is crying primarily because we are uncomfortable with the intensity of their emotion rather than because we really want them to feel better? Quite often the most healing response is to provide a shoulder for the other to cry on rather than trying to stop their tears.
