Daily Teaching for Sunday, July 21st

Difference of opinion and diversity of views are sometimes seen as problems, but in truth they are not. It probably isn’t possible to put two people together who don’t have a difference of opinion about something. If somehow we did manage to find someone who saw everything our way, there wouldn’t be much to talk about and there certainly wouldn’t be any growth occurring. Difference of opinion and other forms of diversity are therefore assets that allow for growth, but only if we don’t try to force everyone into monolithic belief because (as I mentioned above) not only is that impossible, it isn’t desirable!
