To believe that there are fundamental difference between ethnic groups is to play into the hands of those in power who would manipulate and control us. We do have historic and cultural differences, but fundamentally we all want the same things: to be safe, to have a roof over our heads and food on our table, to be healthy, and for our children to have a better opportunity that we did. We must come to see that for any of us to have these fundamental rights in an ongoing way it will be necessary for all of us to have them. In this way, the rhetoric of division plays right into the hands of those in power.
