Human beings need community. One of the problems with some newer forms of spirituality is that there is little or no emphasis placed on the need for relationship with others on a similar path. One of the problems with traditional religious institutions is their failure to understand the evolving nature of community, which results in insistence that community must take place at the times and locations defined by the institution. The possibilities are limitless when we treat spiritual practitioners as the mature adults they are and take the time to listen to their needs and build community that actually meets those needs!
