It’s Holy Saturday in the Christian Tradition, and we are told this was the day Jesus spent in the tomb. Odd that the institution has moved away from the idea that this is the day that Jesus visited “the souls in prison,” by which they meant those who were already dead. The Creeds call it either descending to the dead or descending into hell, an act that demonstrates nobody is beyond the reach of God’s love. I suspect the institution downplays that truth because it’s not good for business. It’s harder to manipulate people who know they are loved. We are all inseparably interconnected with everything that is – including God. Don’t let anyone try to convince you otherwise.
