No matter how hard we try to explain them, some people will never understand our spiritual choices. That can be especially painful when those closest to us not only don’t understand but also openly criticize our spirituality. It may be helpful at those times to see that the criticism is rooted in their own fear and insecurity. While that experience can be very painful, living an inauthentic life is not only painful but also can kill our spirit. To thine own self be true!
