Whenever I see a former Christian who is now a member of a different tradition still expressing anger toward Christianity and disdain for Christians it saddens me because I know they have not allowed themselves to heal. Many if not most of us come out of spiritual traditions – I call them our “spirituality of origin” – to which we no longer belong. If we have been wounded in those traditions, we need to do healing around that woundedness so that we can move forward into a new tradition unencumbered by the past and authentically participate in this new leg of our spiritual journey.
