We tend to confuse love and possession, love and sex, love and attachment that leads to suffocation, love as something owed to us, and a host of other confusions, distortions, and myths. Zen Master Thich Nhat Nahn points out that what the one we love needs from us most is our presence and attention. Can we learn to be with those we love selflessly, without expecting anything in return? Until we can, we have much to learn about what love is!
